Swimming Lessons
Lifesaving lessons are offered at the main beach every summer for 2 weeks. Lessons are typically in and around the two weeks leading up to the August long weekend and this is dependent on instructor availability.
The programs offered at Hitchcock are as follows:
Preschool 1-5 (under 5yrs of age)
The preschool program gives children a head start in learning how to swim.
Swimmer 1-6 (5yrs and up)
The swimmer program ensures children know how to swim and develops solid swimming strokes and skills.
Canadian Swim Patrol (Rookie, Ranger, Star)
The Canadian Swim Patrol is the on ramp to lifeguarding. The program continues to develop participants' swim strokes and provide the skill foundation that prepares them for success in the Society's Bronze medal awards.
