FYI🚨 Riverhurst Ferry Update 🚨![]()
Please be advised the seasonal service of the Riverhurst Ferry will end November 3, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. for important upgrades.![]()
After stakeholder meetings held last year, it was decided that late fall would cause the least disruption for travelers while giving crews time to complete the work before winter.![]()
This closure will allow installation of new Volvo Penta Tier III engines that meet Transport Canada standards , bringing cleaner, more consistent service well into the future.![]()
The Riverhurst Ferry is Saskatchewan’s largest ferry, carrying nearly 30,000 vehicles each year across Lake Diefenbaker, an essential link for travelers, businesses, and tourists alike.![]()
We thank the Ministry of Highways for keeping this vital crossing strong for generations to come! ☀️![]()

Hayday Tree Services has been in the Hamlet this past week providing tree services for residents. If anyone requires wood chips for ground cover or mulch, they have been dumping wood chips on the east side of the burn pile.![]()
Please remember that the burn pile is for clean untreated wood and clippings only. Treated or painted lumber including plywood/osb and plastic bags are not allowed.![]()
Thank you!
This summer we have received complaints and questions about dogs at large (off leash) within the community of Hitchcock Bay.![]()
Dog owners are reminded that their pets must always be on a leash and under control. This includes when on your property unless they are confined within a fence of suitable size and strength, that they cannot leave the owner’s yard.![]()
Many of our residents including children, enjoy walks on our streets, trails and beaches and wish to avoid issues from off leash pets. Dog owners must do their best to conform to this by-law.![]()
Thank You
